UK Traffic Geo Rss Feeds (mainly for use on google)

NEW: 29 March 2007Since Google Maps now supports GeoRss Feeds and my old Greasemonkey script has long stopped working, i thought I'd come up with some GeoRss feeds for use direct on Google Maps

This site overlays various bits of data direct onto a Google Map.

Click this link to view the data: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=http://bbc.blueghost.co.uk/travel_data/locations.rss. Give it a second or two to load the data

For a complete list of areas view http://bbc.blueghost.co.uk/travel_data/locations.rss

Individual areas are available by going to http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=http://bbc.blueghost.co.uk/trafficGeoRss.php?location=<location here> , e.g. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=http://bbc.blueghost.co.uk/trafficGeoRss.php?location=wolverhampton. At present you'll have to find the exact locations by manually reading the http://bbc.blueghost.co.uk/travel_data/locations.rss file.

Any data supplied that has more than 2 co-ordinates is simply displayed using the first two co-ordinates using a line, it won't follow the roads path.

Any Comments then email me @ My Email Address

About Traffic Data

You select the county/area by clicking on the icons on the map, you can then see delays for that area by clicking on the link This Data come from the BBC's TPEG Travel Feeds. They are then converted to GeoRss files.
I convert them from TPEG files as the RSS feeds don't contain Geographical co-ordinates to position reports on the Google Map.
The Converted files are visible @ http://bbc.blueghost.co.uk/travel_data/Note my custom xml (bad xml syntax i know :) ) are also visible there too.

The data is automatically updated every hour 30 minutes, i may cut this to half an hour depending on how much bandwidth it takes up - DONE

Limitations/Bugs

???

As always this is supported by backstage.bbc.co.uk"
